The ATHENA European University is hosting a virtual event titled “It’s Your Education! It’s Your Europe!” on May 15, 2024, from 15:00 to 16:00 CEST, in celebration of Europe Day 2024. The event aims to engage young individuals in the upcoming European elections and foster an informed university community. Attendees will hear from various stakeholders, including politicians, educators, and students, discussing critical topics such as the impact of EU policies on higher education, strategies to enhance student voter participation, and collaboration between academia and politics to promote inclusive education within the EU. The keynote speaker will be Antonio López-Istúriz White, a Member of the European Parliament. Panelists include: – Evangelia Georgitsi, EU Commission’s Communication Officer in Greece – Nikolas Moraitakis, Senior Adviser/Manager for EU Programs in Crete – Guillaume Frison, EU Parliament’s Communication Directorate Youth Outreach Unit – Umberto Masi, President of the Lithuanian Youth Council – Efthalia Chatzigianni, Vice-Rector for Internationalization, University of the Peloponnese – Asimenia Soukouli, Vice President of ESN Greece Registration is mandatory due to limited availability, and a link to the event will be sent to participants beforehand.
