The RVR launches the “LET’S EUROPE” campaign with spray actions across the Ruhr area to raise awareness about European unity ahead of the 2024 elections. Directed by Karola Geiß-Netthöfel, the campaign aims to engage youth in promoting solidarity and democracy.
Essen/Ruhrgebiet – The Regionalverband Ruhr (RVR) in collaboration with Ruhr cities has launched an engaging Europawahl campaign titled “LET’S EUROPE” featuring over 25 unique spray actions. Starting February 5, the campaign will see the motto creatively sprayed in various locations including town halls, schools, and EU offices. RVR’s regional director, Karola Geiß-Netthöfel, inaugurated the campaign by spray painting the RVR building with the campaign logo. This initiative focuses on highlighting the significance of a united Europe during the ongoing crises and aims to raise awareness among youth to champion open borders and solidarity in Europe. The campaign will include an Instagram channel @LetsEuropeRuhr, showcasing Europe-centric stories and will be visible in public transport across the region. The overarching goal aligns with the upcoming European elections in Germany on June 9, 2024.
The campaign “LET’S EUROPE” is part of a broader initiative across Europe leading up to the 2024 European elections. With an emphasis on the importance of unity in Europe amidst challenging times, the campaign collaboratively engages 53 cities and four districts in the Ruhr region. Activities will encompass artistic expression in public spaces and social media storytelling, aiming to inspire community participation, especially among younger generations.
The “LET’S EUROPE” campaign represents a concerted effort by the RVR and local municipalities to promote the value of European unity and democracy as the region prepares for the upcoming European elections. By utilizing creative public engagement tactics, the campaign seeks to encourage active participation from citizens, particularly the youth.
